About Sennen House

Half an acre of formal gardens surrounding the house and five acres of hillside which is covered in natural bush. In March 2006 the house, grounds and native bush were covenanted under the Queen Elizabeth II National Trust to further protect this important natural habitat together with the significant historic and architectural merit of the property.

A number of trees, planted when the property was built, such as the oak trees in the paddock and the camellia tree to the rear of the property are also protected under this scheme.

Hosts: Stephanie & Don

As new owners and privileged guardians of this grand old villa Stephanie and Don are enthusiastic about tending to the gardens and upkeep of Sennen House  and they hope that they can help it to remain a part of New Zealand’s heritage for many years to come.

New Zealand born Don met Stephanie while he was living and working in Brisbane Australia.

Whilst living in Australia Don and Stephanie travelled extensively around the North and South Island on many occasions but always visited their favourite place, the Marlborough Sounds. In 2015 they were looking for a more relaxed lifestyle and took the opportunity to be part of the friendly and beautiful town of Picton along with their two mini fox terriers, Piper and Sid when they found and fell in love with Sennen House.

We love meeting new people and invite you to join us and share this very special place and beautiful surroundings that is Sennen House. - Stephanie
