Environmental Considerations

We are committed to our care of and responsibility towards the environment. Whilst staying at Sennen House we ask guests to join us in considering the following options for supporting our environmental policy.

In order to conserve both water and power and to reduce water pollution you may choose to re-use your towels. Hang your towels on the towel rail if you chose to allow them to dry for re-use.

Similarly, should you choose not to have your linen changed on the third day of occupation, please let us know and we will re-make your bed with existing linen.

We ask that you consider power usage and turn off all lights, heaters and other electrical equipment when you are away from your room for any period of time.

During cold spells we ask that you utilize the timer switches on your heater.

In order to conserve water, please do not leave taps running when not in use.

We offer you the option of recycling paper, glass and plastic. If you would like to join us in this, please leave these items to one side of your bin.

We are keen conservationists and support the following organisations that are protecting and conserving New Zealand’€™s precious flora, fauna, habitat and heritage. We ask that you consider joining or donating to the following organisations:

– Royal Forest and Bird Society

– The Yellow-eyed Penguin Trust

– Queen Elizabeth 11 National Trust

– New Zealand Historic Places Trust

More information on these organisations can be found in the guest office.
